School Bag

Jubail Industrial City, September 1, 2018:

On Saturday (September 1, 2018), more than 50 volunteers from Sadara Chemical Company completed the packing and preparation of more than 1,000 school bags with essential school supplies and distributed them to five charitable societies in four different governorates in the Eastern Province. The societies will in turn deliver the school bags to needy families, providing school essentials to them with the beginning of the new school year. This initiative supported students in elementary schools in Jubail Industrial City, Jubail Downtown, Ras Tanura, Umm Al-Sahek and Hafr Al-Batin.

Each school bag contained 16 different school supply items, as well as some gifts for celebrating the Saudi National Day. Eng. Ayman Mufti, Director of Information Technology at Sadara and one of the volunteers, praised the performance of all volunteers in achieving this admirable goal: "This initiative represents our commitment to social responsibility and supporting our local communities. Volunteering is a key driver in building interest in social responsibility activities."

About Sadara:

Sadara is a joint venture developed by the Saudi Arabian Oil Company (Saudi Aramco) and The Dow Chemical Company. Sadara is a multi-billion dollar world-scale chemical complex in Jubail Industrial City II in Saudi Arabia’s Eastern Province. Comprised of 26 world-scale manufacturing units, the Sadara chemical complex is the world’s largest to be built in a single phase and is the only chemical company in the Middle East to use refinery liquids, such as naphtha, as feedstock. By using best-in-class technologies to crack refinery liquid feedstock, Sadara will enable many industries that either currently do not exist in Saudi Arabia or only exist through imports of raw materials. The adjacent PlasChem Park, a unique collaboration between Sadara and the Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu’, will create more value downstream, generating unprecedented investment, innovation, economic growth and thousands of jobs.
